kiND Culture:

A culture that recognizes that different types of minds have their own ways of processing, communicating, and being-and embraces this neurodivergence with understanding & kiNDness (for ourselves and others).

Get to know your nervous system, your needs, your spaces of joy & comfort.

Find your pace, your way of life that feels sustainable.

Step into a neurodivergent community who gets you & supports you.

Support Pods

Your own little neurodivergent corner of the world.

Support Pods are ongoing groups where you can receive support from your OT Coach and other group members.

Why try a pod?

It’s more affordable than individual therapy with a built in community of other autistic individuals who have lived it and get it.

Who is a good fit for a support pod?

Both teen and adult support pods are available. Pods are well-suited for individuals who are autistic or neurodivergent, and are ok with processing verbally through discussions with their OT Coach & other members.

Our pods tend to be especially well-suited for individuals who are high-masking or late-identified autistic, although this is not a requirement and is not true for all members.

Why try a support pod?

Build your own small community who gets it and gets YOU.

Community

All we ask from group members is mutual respect. If you need to just BE, to just listen, or to just observe that is ok by us.

Burned Out?

Find dual support for your challenges-from your OT Coach & other members. Just as with any other type of lived experience, other autistic people get it like nobody else can.

Support

Lower Cost

Therapy can be expensive. Support Pods can be a more sustainable long-term support.

Coming Soon! What You Get When You Apply

Learn the basics about managing burnout, sensory overwhelm, and nervous system regulation at your own pace with our short online course.

An Online Course That Covers the Basics

Our basics course is an important first step so that we all enter the group with a basic understanding of important topics that ground many of our discussions.

Access Our Sensory Screening Tool at a Fraction of the Cost.

We’ve developed an online screening tool to give you insight about your unique sensory processing & regulation needs at a fraction of the cost of what an individual Evaluation with an OT would cost.

Completing the Sensory Screening Tool is essential to learning more about your own needs, pathways to burnout recovery, & how to build regulatory strategies that work for you.

One on One Call

(20 minutes)

We want to make sure our pods are a good fit for you, and that our pod members are a good fit for each other.

You’ll schedule a Get Acquainted Call with us so that we can get to know each other better. We can answer any questions you have about Support Pods, our services in general, or other individualized questions if time allows.

Due to factors like demand, availability, and ensuring groups are the right fit, there may be a waiting period before you are paired with a pod.

Applying does not guarantee a spot in a Support Pod since not everyone will be the right fit.

Once your application is approved & a Pod opens up, join your OT Coach & your new pod for up to 3 sessions a month..with a total cost that is less than the price of just one of our individual sessions!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We’ve worked hard to make the upfront cost low so that it’s easier to try out without much investment. Rather than burning ourselves out in endless calls and emails, we’ve found a more sustainable way through our application process which includes the Get Acquainted Call for any remaining questions you might have.

  • Commitment to a support pod is month to month. After the month is paid for it is non-refundable. However, you can cancel for future months at any time prior to the 1st of that month.

  • No, this is an out of pocket service.

  • Payment is due at the first of the month or at the sign-up for your first pod. It is a recurring payment based on a subscription month to month service. Any cancellations need to be made prior to the start of the month in order to avoid charges. You can manage your subscription directly through your login once you have joined.

  • Yes, individual sessions are available for those who would like to go this route. Individual sessions or Evaluations can be booked directly through the links on our Individual Services page.

  • Our application process should help clear this up. But if you’re still feeling unsure, it’s only a one month commitment once you sign up.

Trying out a Support Pod, our Sensory Screener or Basics Course (coming soon) are great ways to feel things out if you’d like before booking an individual service.

  • No, we no longer offer a sliding scale. Our Support Pods are a low cost alternative to our individual services and have limited spots at a reduced price for those who qualify based on need (you can note your interest in this on the initial inquiry form).

  • No, an autism diagnosis is not required. Those who self-identify as autistic or are exploring autistic identity are welcome.

While we focus primarily on autistic individuals, those who identify with other areas of neurodivergence are welcome to apply.

  • When you submit your application form you can specify your preference on groupings. We do our best to group people generally by age/life stage, with teen groups matched closer in age than adults.

  • Many autistic people have been in groups before and felt like it wasn’t a great fit. Our groups are different- they have been created specifically for autistic individuals. We invite you to show up as you are and however you need to show up that day. Whether you want to share, just observe, or simply need to just BE.

  • Members will never be expected or pressured to talk or share in the group. Our priority is in creating a safe space for you to show up however you need without expectations. Pods may engage more verbally one day, and another day be more of a body doubling space, depending on what group members need.

  • We offer both in-person and virtual support pods. Our in-person pods take place in our location near the Plaza Midwood neighborhood of Charlotte.

  • We like to keep our pods relatively small with a max of 7 people.

  • We will do our best to offer a variety of times, but in general, pods meet during typical working hours sometime between 9-6 M-F. Teen pods meet late afternoon to decrease conflict with school hours.

Pods will generally meet on consistent times and days of the week with occasional exceptions due to holidays and vacations.
